In mid-November 2019, final tests were held at the combined-arms range near Borisov to check the readiness of the operators of domestic unmanned aircraft systems (UASs) to perform functional responsibilities. The Belarusian State Authority for Military Industry (SAMI) together with the Defence Ministry and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus conducted training courses in accordance with the instructions of the head of state for the second year in a row.
The Defence Ministry provided weapons, range equipment and target layout. Display Design Office JSC organised over fifty combat flights for the practical training of strike UAS operators. Republican unitary enterprise Scientific and Production Centre of Multifunctional Unmanned Systems of the Belarusian Academy of Sciences performed about forty of combat training flights of strike UASs. All designated targets during the operational flights were hit.
As a result of the training, the statistics experienced in the operation of various types of UASs allowed the developers to refine their experimental models to a reliable advanced product, as well as to manufacture new modifications of the unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
During the training, representatives of the State Secretariat of the Security Council, the Defence Ministry and SAMI evaluated the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of operators and flight operations directors of Display Design Office JSC and republican unitary enterprise Scientific and Production Centre of Multifunctional Unmanned Systems of the Belarusian Academy of Sciences.
In the future, it is planned to conduct training and technical training for strike UAS operators at the premises of organisations carrying out R&D projects. The created products will be used at the ranges of the Armed Forces as part of tests and demonstration of combat capabilities during training of troops or presentation of weapons to potential customers.
